ISESCO Center for the Promotion of Scientific Research, (ICPSR) is an organ of the Islamic, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), which was established at ISESCO headquarters in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.
Founded in 2003, the Center was created to foster and promote all aspects of Scientific Research, Technology and Innovation, in ISESCO Member States, through different types of transfers: Transfer of Technology, Transfer of Knowledge and Transfer of Skills.
The Center aims to promote Science and Technology, through facilitating the integration of science, technology and innovation policies into national strategies of ISESCO Members States, while serving as an observatory of Scientific Research in all fields, and acting as a meeting point of creative scientists and technologists. The Center also provides capacity building programs in Science and Technology for ISESCO Member States through policy advice and exchange of experiences and best practices as well as the organization of specialized activities and workshops, in addition to the support of exchange of students, researchers, scientists and technologists among ISESCO Member States.
As reflected by its name, the Centre acts as an apex center for the dissemination of high quality innovative research results, scientific knowledge, technical know-how and viable technologies to ISESCO Member States. The overall goal being to enhance capacity building for the management of Science, Technology and Innovation through different types of transfers: Transfer of Technology, Transfer of Skills and Transfer of Knowledge.
The Center also deals with activating the mechanisms associated with the implementation of strategies outlined by ISESCO and adopted by Member States, like the “Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation in Muslim Countries” and the “Strategy for Developing ICTs in the Islamic World”.
Through these strategies, ICPSR seeks to reinforce the organic link between Research and Development (R&D), strengthen cooperation ties between ISESCO’s Member States and specialized institutions in the fields of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI).
