
Today in Riyadh, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and King Faisal Prize (KFP) was co-signed by Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, ISESCO Director General, and Dr Abdulaziz Al-Sebail, KFP Secretary General.
The MoU provides for cooperation between the two parties in promoting joint action in service of Islam and Muslims in the intellectual, educational, scientific and cultural fields; and organizing seminars, meetings and workshops in the fields relevant to the Prize. The MoU also aims to highlight the role of this Prize in promoting joint Islamic and international cultural action; encouraging organizations and institutions in and outside the Islamic world to submit their nominations for the Prize; publicizing the KFP, its goals and categories; and activating its outcomes relevant to the Organization’s areas of competence.
In addition, by virtue of this MoU, the two parties shall propose various programmes and activities, in light of the mutual priorities and competences; and periodically exchange their publications, studies and periodicals, etc. They shall also appoint focal points and compose a joint committee for follow up, coordination, implementation and evaluation.
