The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the Moroccan Society for Environmental Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (eSTEM) will hold the 4th round of the Morocco Final for the Challenge Technovation 2018 at ISESCO headquarters in Rabat, Morocco On 5 May 2018. This activity is in the framework for promoting gender equality, empowering young girls and enhancing their scientific and technological capabilities.
eSTEM is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that seeks to provide Moroccan girls and women with the means and self-confidence to encourage them to join the scientific and technological professions while increasing their awareness of the need to address environmental challenges.
In 2010, eSTEM Morocco won the Global Citizen Award from a United Nations American Society for its education efforts.
Since 2014, eSTEM Morocco has trained 500 girls and 100 female teachers, promoting Moroccan girls to develop 30 mobile applications.
The Technovation Challenge, which is organized in Morocco since 2015 by eSTEM Morocco, is the world’s largest technology entrepreneurship competition, allowing girls to acquire the necessary skills to become future entrepreneurs and leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Technovation launches a challenge every year for girls between the ages of 10 and 18 to develop a business plan and develop application for mobile devices to solve problems that have a strong social and economic impact on their community.
On this occasion, several public and private institutions will participate in this forum. At the end of the competition, the judging panel will determine the qualifying contestants for the final phase of the regional competition “Technovation 2018 Challenge“.
The awards will be awarded to the most deserving girls in the categories of high school.
The winning team will visit Silicon Valley, San Francisco, in August 2018 to participate in the Technovation International competition.
The winners of the Technovation Beach International competition will receive initial funding of $10,000 to develop their application and launch on the market.
